For my final piece for beginning art, I decided to create a picture of a fish split into different polygons and colored different shades of the corresponding color. One skill I used for this piece I used color blending to create the uniqueness of this piece. One element that was present was the lines used to divide the picture into sections to create the different shades and values. I chose to create this picture of the fish because I really enjoyed the pen and ink assignment earlier in the year so I decided to recreate it in color.

For my final painting, I created a picture of the Western half of the Earth floating through space with specks of stars filling the background. One skill I used for this project, was surrounding the Earth's outline with tape in order to create a crisp outline that would make the project clear and neat. One element that is within this work is the contrast between the Earth and space that gives the picture depth which makes it feel more real. I enjoyed creating this because I have always had a fascination with Earth and Geography.
This is a self portrait I created based off a picture taken in the Art room, it is myself in a green shirt staring off to the left. For this work, I learned how to be more steady with the brush to make the smaller details on the eyes. One element that is present in my painting is how to use shading to create values and depth within my face. I really liked this project because it forced me to recreate a difficult assignment that otherwise i would have never done.
For my final watercolor project, I decided to paint the scene across the street from the tennis courts, which is the cheery blossoms following down the road with some hills in the back. For this piece, I worked a lot with blending colors to create different shades to display the differences in value between the times of day when I took the picture. The element most emphasized in these paintings is the color differences used to show the value scale that is similar throughout all three. I chose to paint this picture because I really liked the contrast the light pink cherry blossoms created on the backdrop of the dark mountains.
For my Block Print Final, I created a cartoon image of a plant growing in a field, using green leaves, a black outline, and a brown background. For this assignment, I used the skill of carving, at first it was hard to create a detailed background but by going over my lines many times I was able to create cleaner lines throughout my project. Value was highlighted a lot throughout the block print by choosing three colors of darkening hue. I created this plant for my final project because I really like creating scenes in nature because they have many imperfections throughout which gives me creative choice within it.
For my pen Final draft, I drew a Jango Fett’s mask from Star Wars while dividing it up into many shapes and hatching them to add value. For this piece, I used hatching to create different values throughout my drawing. The element that I used most in this drawing was lines, this helped create varying values by putting the lines further and closer from each other. I drew this helmet because Star Wars is my favorite movie franchise and he is a very iconic figure throughout.
For this project, I drew a cylinder, a pyramid and cube hiding behind it, and at transparent box on top of the cube. For this project, I used a lot of shading to show the depth and color within the picture. In this piece, texture was very important to show the differences in “color” with out actually using color. I created this because I like how the transparent box looks on top of the cube and wanted to show the depth between the shapes.
For my Free choice artwork, I chose to draw a sun setting over the horizon from the point of view of a beach on a 18 x 12 inch piece of paper with colored pencils and pens. For this drawing, i implemented blending by rubbing my finger against the paper to create a smoother color for the beach, ocean, and sunlight. A key detail in my drawing is the contrast between the color of the beach on the ocean, creating a distinct border that draws a lot of attention. I created this sunset because sunsets over beaches have a create a very vivid color scheme that is engraved in my brain.
